Deborah Bell, AAC Specialist, MA/CCC, has a Masters Degree in Communication Disorders from California State University, Northridge, is licensed in the state of California, and is a San Andreas Regional Center vendor. For the past 25 years, as a solo practitioner working throughout the Central Coast and Northern California, Ms. Bell has made AAC service her specialty due to the specific needs of individuals with complex communication needs.
Ms. Bell has many years experience working with individuals with cerebral palsy, Down syndrome, autism spectrum disorders, Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis, TBI and cognitive delay. She continues to work with a very broad spectrum of individuals with limited oral speech. Ms. Bell has developed a practice serving children and adults with developmental disorders, has provided rehabilitation services in Acute Rehab settings and provides ongoing services in residential care settings and Level 4 care homes for adults entering community living. She is also the AAC specialist for a Regional Center sponsored AAC clinic in the Central Valley. Ms. Bell works locally in Santa Cruz County with multiple school districts to provide AAC service upon request and provides ongoing treatment at a private school for students with ASD. She is a Hospice of Santa Cruz provider, working to maintain quality of life through use of alternative communication strategies.
